Continuing Education/Graduate Credit

The Military Child Education Coalition (MCEC) shares your commitment to educational rigor, excellence, and integrity. MCEC works to ensure quality professional development coursework emphasizing  skills needed to address challenges military and veteran-connected children face.

MCEC Accreditations

IACET: The Military Child Education Coalition is accredited by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET) and is authorized to issue the IACET CEU.  CEUs are awarded at a ratio of one-tenth per clock hour (1 clock hour is equal to .1 CEUs).




TEA: An educator with a standard certificate in Texas is required to renew his or her standard certificate every five years. A minimum number of CPE hours must be obtained in order to renew that certificate.



The Military Child Education Coalition is an approved continuing education provider for the Texas Education Association Provider # 501-090, Texas and other state entities.

MCEC Approvals

NBCC: MCEC has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider,
ACEP # 6283. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified.




Acceptance of CEUs

It is at the sole discretion of the requestor, individual, to seek approval (reciprocity) from other organization/boards.

Continuing Education Application

To apply for CEUs, applicants must have completed all course requirements. For CEU credit, participants are required to:

  • Attend 95% of the training institute (No partial attendance will be accepted)
  • Complete an assessment of content with a score of 80% or above. 
  • Complete an end of course evaluation

Once the evaluation has been completed, a follow up email will be generated containing the link to purchase the CEUs.  The CEU certificate will be emailed approximately, 7-10 business days.   

Non-Degreed Graduate Credits

Upon successful completion of the institute (LINN-I, GRI, SMCST-F, SMCST-E, RMCEN), you have an option to receive one Graduate continuing education credit, non-degreed, underwritten by a branch of Texas A&M. The University fee is $50. To receive non-degreed graduate credit you must complete the following steps:

Step 2: Print and complete the form.

Step 3: Mail the completed form and payment (made payable to MCEC) to,

Step 4: The University will email the transcript to the requestor within 4-6 weeks. 

Record Maintenance
