Join us February 6-7 in Phenix City, Alabama for the MCEC 360 Purple Star Summit.
MCEC 360 Purple Star Summits are designed to support schools and districts that are seeking or currently hold the Purple Star Designation. Attendees will participate in sessions that provide critical learning opportunities that support Purple Star readiness in your schools and district.
The event is free of charge and includes discussions on the Military Interstate Compact (MIC3), professional development on serving the children of National Guard and Reserve families, interaction with state-level MCEC Coordinators and School Liaisons, Student 2 Student training for school groups, and Speedometry for parents and elementary-aged children. This event is funded through The Alabama State Department of Education State Fund.

Part 2: For Parents and Elementary-Aged Children
Join us for an evening of fun and learning with MCEC® and Hot Wheels® Speedometry™, featuring Hot Wheels cars, tracks, and more! Kids gain experience evaluating and interpreting data using the concepts of physics, all while having fun racing Hot Wheels cars.

Part 3: For Students
On day 2 of the Summit, MCEC will conduct a Student 2 Student® (S2S) training for K-12 schools. S2S is a student-led program that brings military and civilian students together to welcome new students, create a positive environment, support academic excellence, and ease transitions.

Training Objectives:
- Understand why S2S is needed in schools
- Identify the challenges students face as they transition in or out of school
- Understand the S2S Core Values: Leadership, Finding the Way, Academics, Service, Relationships and 100% Acceptance
- Have a plan to build a strong S2S.
This training is designed for school groups. Breakfast and lunch provided.
Registration has closed for this segment of the 360 Summit.
Continuing Education:
Upon completion of the post-training survey, participants may apply for 6 clock hours of continuing education credits for a fee of $30.00. CE credit applications must be received within 12 months from the completion of the training.
