With our stakeholders’ well-being and safety in mind, the Military Child Education Coalition (MCEC) National Training Seminar (NTS) scheduled for July 27-29, 2020, is CANCELLED. We have been closely monitoring the situation with COVID-19, and while we are deeply disappointed that we will not be gathering in Washington, DC, this summer, we believe it is best to exercise an abundance of caution in these uncertain times and to heed recommendations from public health experts to avoid discretionary travel and limit group gatherings in the coming months.
At MCEC, we are grateful to all of our NTS attendees - the educators, students, youth-serving and family program professionals, health professionals, military family members, military leaders, exhibitors, and speakers. For those already registered for the 2020 NTS, our team will be reaching out directly with information about providing full refunds. For those who have reserved rooms within the block at the Renaissance Washington, DC Hotel, the hotel will be in touch directly in the coming days to provide a cancellation confirmation.
MCEC would also like to take this opportunity to thank our 2020 NTS sponsors - the individuals, organizations, and companies - who step up and make the commitment to support our professional learning community. Their support allows each of us to share resources, knowledge, and networking opportunities that help us better support military-connected children so that every military child is safe, supported, challenged, healthy and engaged in learning.
As ever, MCEC remains committed to ensuring inclusive, quality educational opportunities for military-connected children, and we look forward to gathering in-person again in 2021. In the meantime, please visit www.militarychild.org for information about upcoming regional trainings scheduled for fall 2020, and to explore our web-based professional development trainings, programs, and resources.
MARK YOUR CALENDAR and join us July 19-21, 2021, as we come together once again in Washington, DC…for the sake of the child.
With gratitude and hope for a healthy future,
