Course Format:

Online instruction with up to 50 people per session.

Course Length:

This course includes 6 clock hours (.6 CEUs) of instruction and group work time, exclusive of breaks and lunch.

Audience:

Professionals, para professionals, youth leaders, and others who work with children and youth in educational or community organization settings. This course is also relevant to parents who are interested in ways to help their child reach their full potential.

Learning Outcomes:
  • Explain what it means to thrive and the role of caring adults in helping children reach their full potential.
  • Interpret current research on Thriving, and examine a specific four-step process to help adults support youth.
  • Network with colleagues to develop strategies for promoting thriving attributes in children and youth.     
  • Analyze professional and personal practices as related to components of thriving and identify strategies and methodologies for application.
Credit Options:

CEU - Course participants are eligible to receive .6 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for this six clock hour course.MCEC is a National Board for Certified Counselors Approved Continuing Education provider (ACEP™) and may offer NBCC-approved clock hours for events that meet NBCC requirements. The ACEP solely is responsible for all aspects of the program. These designations allow us to offer you these opportunities.

The Military Child Education Coalition is an approved continuing education provider for the Texas
Education Association Provider # 501-090, Texas and other state entities.

To receive CEUs a participant must maintain 95% attendance, engage in the class activities and discussions, complete an end of course evaluation, and complete an end-of-course assessment with a minimum score of 80%. The CEU fee is $25.00.
