What is a MSTC Affiliate:

The MSTA is an employee of the LEA (Local Educational Agency) assigned to a campus. In addition to this Guidance Professional's responsibilities, participation as an Affiliate provides additional resources and support through the MCEC network to assist military-connected students.

Examples of MSTC Affiliate Activities:

  • Identify military connected students in the LEA
  • Support school registration and intake of military connected students and families
  • Connect military students to no-cost tutoring
  • Detail and support state graduation requirements explanations
  • Collaborate with School Liaison Officer for military resources
  • Connect with EFMP (Exceptional Family Member Program)
  • Build awareness of CYSS activities (Child and Youth School Aged Services)
  • Connect new students to campus / district extracurricular activities
