Major General (Ret) Dawne Deskins

Maj Gen Dawne Deskins retired from the military on the 1st of May, 2022. 

She is a career Air Battle Manager serving in the United States Air Force and Air National Guard (ANG) for almost 38 years.  Her key assignments include Director, Air, Space and Cyber Operations for the ANG and most recently the ANG Deputy Director, responsible for assisting the Director in formulating, developing, and coordinating all policy, plans and programs affecting over 108,000 Guard members and civilians across the 54 States, territories, and the District of Columbia. Her joint assignments include Deputy Director, Partnering, Security Cooperation and Missile Defense for US European Command and Director, Manpower and Personnel for the National Guard Bureau.   It was during her time serving at the National Guard Bureau that she was responsible for family programs supporting both Army and Air National Guard families across the country.

She holds a bachelor’s degree from Ithaca College and a master’s degree from Florida State University. She and her husband, Antonio, live in Central New York and have two grown children.
