Military Child Education Coalition Announces Kyle Wood as Chief Operating Officer

The Military Child Education Coalition (MCEC) is thrilled to announce the appointment of Kyle Wood as its new Chief Operating Officer (COO). After an extensive 12-month search, Kyle emerged as the ideal candidate to lead the organization in its mission to support military-connected children and their families.

With over fifteen years of experience in education and nonprofit operations, Kyle brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his new role. His journey began in Atlanta, GA, where he joined Teach For America and taught special education middle school math. Kyle’s dedication and passion for education led him to become a school administrator, and most recently, he served as the Director of School Operations for Achievement First’s flagship high school in New Haven, CT.

During his tenure at Achievement First, Kyle demonstrated exceptional leadership skills by managing a large team of non-instructional staff. He spearheaded operational improvements and fostered a healthy staff culture, ensuring a conducive learning environment for students. Kyle’s commitment to continuous growth is evident through his academic achievements, holding bachelor’s degrees in English and Software Development, as well as master’s degrees in Education and Business Administration.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Kyle enjoys immersing himself in literature, staying active through exercise, and cherishing quality time with his wife and beagle. His well-rounded nature and dedication to making a positive impact align perfectly with MCEC’s core values.

As the new COO, Kyle Wood will play a pivotal role in advancing MCEC’s mission to ensure quality educational opportunities for military children. His extensive experience and passion for education make him an invaluable addition to the organization’s leadership team.
