2024 MCEC Global Training Summit Strong Foundation, Future Success

Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I attend the 2024 MCEC Global Training Summit (GTS)?

Through the GTS, MCEC connects attendees with the resources, knowledge, and community to best support military children in an educational setting. Attendees gain professional development based on research, practice, and common-sense ideas that help ensure every military child is safe, supported, challenged, healthy, and engaged in learning. MCEC GTS Opening Gala Event

For 26 years, our national event has evolved into a think tank for attendees to come together and learn from senior military, education, and thought leaders to gain an empowered understanding and knowledge of how to best serve and support our military and veteran-connected children.

The MCEC GTS provides each attendee:

  • New professional connections and resources that expand their professional learning community and provide them with support and guidance.
  • Clarity, knowledge, direction, and inspiration that can be applied to advance learning opportunities for military- and veteran-connected children.
  • Initiatives and proven solutions that support military youth and can be implemented in classrooms, schools, and communities.
  • Understanding of public policy perspectives and the implications for programs and services.

Who are our GTS attendees?

How can I get my organization to invest in my GTS attendence?

We recognize that resources for professional development are limited. We have provided a few tips to help you justify your organization’s investment in sending you to the 2024 MCEC GTS:

  • Clearly articulate the connection between your organization’s knowledge requirements and the conference program to educate your supervisor on the value of GTS.
  • Be results-oriented and focus on what new information or ideas you will bring back to your school or organization that will help increase pathways or opportunities for leadership and expand existing efforts to support military-connected children.
  • Share your learning by offering to prepare and deliver a short presentation to your colleagues and leadership. Provide your peers with promising practices that are evidence-based and can help your organization better support military-connected students.
  • Make the most of your trip by extending your learning with a Pre-Summit Professional Development Sessions on Monday, July 29, 2024.
  • Connect with your peers by taking advantage of the opportunity to meet with other attendees, presenters, and exhibitors to learn promising practices and engage with people who share your expertise and passion for supporting military-connected children.
